Lisa Lund Obituary

Lisa Lund
1974 ~ 2012
Lisa Lund passed away quietly but unexpectedly on Monday, September 17th. A beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, and friend, Lisa was a bright star in the lives of all who knew her. She was born in Salt Lake City on April 13, 1974, to two doting parents and an older brother and sister who picked on her tirelessly but loved her dearly. She grew up in Holladay, where she attended Olympus High School and met her first husband, Peter Child. Lisa and Peter were married on December 10th, 1992, and attended the University of Utah together, where Lisa majored in economics, a passion that she carried through the rest of her life. The two moved to South Jordan after graduation and raised their four children. Lisa will be remembered as a beautiful, smart, and spirited woman. Lisa never did anything without putting her whole heart into the effort. Most of all, she was a mother who always put her children's needs above her own and put all her strength, physically, spiritually, and emotionally, into ensuring their well-being. She was a tower of impassable strength, with a "won't back down" attitude that was always the hallmark of her personality. Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Bryant Douglas Lund, and her brother, Randall Douglas Lund, and is survived by her mother, LeAnna, sister Christine (Nathan,) and her four children, Alex, Samuel, Sophie, and Lily Child, as well as numerous other close friends and relatives. Her impact on our lives was tremendous. Her memory will be unforgettable. Lisa, you will be deeply missed.
A funeral will be held in her honor on September 25 at the LDS Church building located at 4881 W, 9610 S, (Cindy Lane.) The viewing will be held at noon with the funeral following at one pm.

Dear Alex, Sam, Sophie and Lilly,
I had the privilege of living next door to your family for ten years. I loved your mother dearly! There were many days and late nights we sat on each others couches and laughed and cried together as we discussed our trials. She was a dear friend and she will be greatly missed. Please know that she will watch you from the other side of the veil! You will feel her presence as she cheers for you along your life path!

My thoughts and prayers are with you all!

This morning I awoke with the realization that Lisa is no longer suffering from back pain. That is a comfort. Man is that he might have joy. Woman is that she might have joy. There is opposition in all things and sometimes it is hard to understand the pain that we also experience. I am praying for peace to come to you and to all of her family.

We knew Lisa and her wonderful little family up at the University of Utah student ward. That was so long ago, 20+ years ago. She was fun to be around and had such love and positive energy for everyone around her. Her smile was as big as her heart. Lisa will be missed by all who knew her. Pete and the kids, we are so sad to hear this news, you will see her again. I believe this!! I pray Heavenly Father will be with you all.

Pete, I'm so, so sorry to have heard this. I had a little contact with Lisa via Facebook after the divorce, but never got many details on what was going on, I was worried about her, though, and we talked about getting together but the few times we tried to schedule something it didn't work out. Just heartbroken for you and your children.

September 23, 2012

Alex, Sam, Sophie, Lily, You have been blessed with a loving, caring, beautiful, intelligent Mother! I will never forget the stories Randy told me about each of you when Lisa opened up her home and her heart to him when he had nowhere else to go. That's a perfect example of the kind of person she was. Honor her memory! She will always be watching over you! Love, Lisa Mabey Lund Burton
