Marjorie ElizabethButterfield Torkelsen 1910 ~ 2004  RIVERTON - Marjorie Elizabeth Butterfield Torkelsen, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother great-great-grandmother, passed quietly from this life, Thursday evening July 8, 2004 in Heber City, Utah, at the age of 93.  Marjorie was born December 5, l9l0 to Thomas S. and Martha Bowlden Butterfield in Herriman, Utah. She was the third in a family of eleven children. She was married to Thomas Lacey Torkelsen in the Salt Lake Temple, June l8, l930.  Marjorie was a loving and caring person, who was constantly giving and serving her family, friends and neighbors. She spent countless hours cooking, canning and sewing for her family. She will always be remembered for the loving care she gave to her husband Tom, as his health declined and he eventually lost his sight.  Marjorie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many ward callings and served many years as a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. She served a mission in the Washington D.C. Temple. She spent much time in genealogy research and loved this work of uniting families.  She is survived by her three daughters. Mrs. Ramon V. Darton (Joan) Logan; Mrs. Ned H. Wardle (Janet), Riverton; Mrs. Rodney E. Maxfeild (Gayla) Woodland; daughter-in-law Annette Torkelsen, Ogden; 19 grandchildren, 59 great-grand-children, fourteen great-great-grand-children, three sisters Edith Newman, Mildred Crane, Hazel Sorenson; two brothers Lester Butterfield and Merrill Butterfield. She was preceded in death by her husband and their only son, Gary, her parents, two sisters and three brothers.  Funeral services will be held Tues. at 11 a.m. in the Riverton 2nd Ward Chapel, l2574 So. 1700 W. Friends may call Monday eve. From 7-9 p.m. at the Broomhead Funeral Home 12600 So. 2200 W. And on Tues. one hour prior at the church. Interment in the Riverton Cemetery.
