Roland Sharp Obituary

April 26, 1946 ~ June 6, 2017
West Wendover, Nevada, Roland Sharp, age 71, beloved husband of Linda Gibson Sharp passed away on Tuesday June 6, 2017 with his family by his side. Born in Ainsworth, NE to Roy and Esther Sharp, he was the youngest, having four older sisters.
He married Linda Gibson on April 24, 1965 in Wendover Utah. During their 52 years of marriage they raised four children. Roland had a love for the outdoors, whether it was exploring or creating new trails, cutting wood for the winter or spending time fishing. He cherished the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren teaching them life lessons, the value of hard work and the ability to find humor in most situations.
Roland was not afraid of hard work and looked for adventures in employment. Over the span of his career, he worked in hospitality, underground mining, public works and most recently as a bus driver.
He is survived by his loving wife, a daughter Toni Corona, sons Todd, Allan (Erica), John (Barrie), family friend Gary Corona; eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; his sisters Marilyn Wilson (Ken), Carolyn Ralls (Ray), Jean Henderson (Mel) and Joan Rainey.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his in-laws Howard and Pansy Gibson.
A memorial service will be held on Monday June 19, 2017 at 11 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wendover Utah, visitation with the family at 10 am. Funeral Directors, Neil O'Donnell and Sons. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Jude's Children Hospital would be appreciated.

We have no words to express how sorry for your loss. Roland was a great man who touched all he came into contact with. I have many fond memories of working with him, he always knew how to make me laugh. He never hesitated in reminding me of what a "trouble Maker" I am. Rest In Peace Roland, may God wrap you in his arms and guide you through your spiritual journey.

Too all the family dealing with the loss of this wonderful man, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
