Dale Corder Obituary

Dale Craig Corder, age 98 years, passed away on September 22, 2022, in his bed at home. He was asleep at the time of his passing and held a smile on his lips when the time came. A good and decent man, husband, and father, he led a life to be respected, revered, reckoned with and upon; and cherished. From a young age, coming up to adulthood through tumultuous and trying times, amongst many aunts, uncles, and cousins, he learned the true meaning of love early on. Parents who instilled good values, exampled good traits and morals, set good goals, and allowed freedom to grow into a true and right-thinking person did so very successfully in Dale's case.

He set the standard for others throughout his Life's tenure and never acted in any way as if he thought that he did, self-deprecation and humility taking precedence over his entire long, loving life. On D- Day, of World War II, our father joined the first wave of the Normandy invasion of France, never once questioning the justice of the offensive, fully aware at a teen age that he was helping to 'Save the World'. As children, we were allowed to challenge norms, explore unknowns, grow into our own imperfect selves, make mistakes, and learn from everything we encountered. Our father's good judgment set precedence every single day he spent on earth and all who knew him were astutely aware of the quality being he so easily manifested.

Truth was his basis, never needing to lead anyone astray by trying to be anything but himself. He was the definition of a true husband, loving parent, goal setter, nonjudging teacher and... father. Dale left this world as he came into it: manly and fatherly. And a superb role model. He shall remain so forever and ever through all time. And he will always be epitomized as... our father.

Dale is preceded in death by his blood Father, Billie Ott Corder, who passed in an untimely death unexpectedly during Dale's third year, his mother Dorothy Corder-Cox, stepfather Lawrence Cox, and his loving wife of 70 ½ years: June Corder. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Sue McAdams (Hugh); son Curran Craig Corder, DVM (Harvey); grandchildren Robyn Raedahl Matthews (Thomas) and Curran McAdams; Great Grandchildren, Kaitlynn McAdams, and Caleb Matthews; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Celebration of Life Service and Graveside Service will be live-streamed for extended family and friends.

Mr. Corder was the most interesting man. Filled with incredible stories, quick-witted, and knew how to fill a room with laughter and smiles. I was fortunate enough to hear his stories regarding his D-Day experience, listen to him sing along with classic movies that he enjoyed watching, and was most fortunate enough to see the way he loved his wonderful wife. He would go on a walk each day and would always pick a few flowers to bring back to her, putting a big grin on her face each time. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is with his beloved June again. My condolences go out to his wonderful son, Dr. Corder and his "sweet peach" daughter, Kimberly.

Sincerely,

Lauren J.

I had the good fortune of meeting Mr. Corder on many occasions as he walked the neighborhood. He always stopped to say hello to me & my parents (now deceased), who were of the same generation. He was a patriotic, kind man who loved his family & his country. He will not be forgotten.
