Delmar Knott Obituary

Delmar Keith Knott, 74, passed away March 13, 2004, at his residence in Llano, TX. He was born January 14, 1930 in Independence, MO, to Belle (Rummery) and Glenn Knott. Keith was a Veteran of the Korean War, receiving the Purple Heart and Korean Service Medal. He married Catherine Gagliola July 22, 1949 in Omaha, NE. He was a Master Locksmith and Master Safecracker, traveling all over the United States teaching classes in Locksmithing and safecracking. It is said he could open a safe when no one else could. He was a life member of the Texas Locksmith Association, member of the VFW, NRA lifetime member, and owned Caterine's Vineyard in Llano County. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Renell Marie Knott in 1988, his wife Catherine, in 2003, and one sister, Jessie. He is survived by two daughters, Lena Belle Tracy and husband Robert of Llano, TX, Carmella Collins and husband Dennis Ray of Port Aransas; sister, Mary Grudle and brothers, Glenn, George, Jeff and James. He is survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Chapel in Llano, TX on Thursday, March 18, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. with Bro. Sid McMahon officiating. Interment and Graveside Service to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio at 3:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be Dennis Collins, Daniel McMahon, R.C. Vogt, Keith Ayers, Red Emerson and Richard Tracy, Dean Sheppard will be Honorary Pallbearer and also officiate at the Service.
