Felix Leon, 80, joined his beloved wife, Beatrice Tamez Leon, in heaven on July 13, 2010. He passed away peacefully at home in Universal City, Texas, surrounded by his loving family. Felix was born in Marion, Texas on October 11, 1929, and was married to the love of his life, Beatrice, for 60 years before she passed away in 2007. The Leon family finds peace in knowing that Felix and Beatrice will share eternity in heaven together as they watch over their loved ones.

Felix was a respected and successful businessman in Universal City. His philosophy was that with honest hard work you would succeed in life. With his wife always by his side, Felix worked his way up from running a hamburger stand in 1949, to opening a Coffee Shop in 1968, to leasing a building and opening Felix's Restaurant in 1976, and then to building his own restaurant in 1985. Felix's Restaurant became a thriving business where his regular patrons would always see him cooking in the kitchen, running the register, helping customers, or sharing some homemade Mexican food or coffee with family and friends. For almost 40 years he woke up at 5:00 A.M. and worked until 10:00 P.M. doing what he loved most, successfully running his restaurants with his wife, children, and grandchildren by his side. In 2007, Felix retired and spent his days relaxing, reminiscing, and enjoying time at home with his family and friends.

Felix's memory will be held lovingly by his 10 children: Beatrice & Robert Saunderson and their children Tina & Bruce, Laura, and James; Felix Leon and his children Daniel, Legen, and Faith; Mary & Rudy Hernandez and their children Erik, Jason, and Shelley; Albert Leon and his children Sammy, Shyler, and Joseph; Adela & Robert Camarillo and their children Damian and Casandra; Alicia & Burt Chadwick and her children Melissa & Joel, JR, and Morgan; Margie & Darren Doege and their children Christina, Melissa, and Brent; Paul & Barbara Leon and their children Preston, Ava, and Ethan; Gabe Leon and his children Ariana, Jacob, and Hailey; and Robert Leon. In addition, Felix's memory will be honored by his great-grandchildren; Desaree', Amnistie, Mariah, Dillon, Colton, and Alexis; and his brother, Bacilio and sister, Guadalupe. His family will miss him incredibly and will cherish dearly all of the wonderful memories of the times he spent with them.

Felix was a devout Christian and faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Family and friends are invited to say their final goodbyes to Felix Leon on Thursday, July 15th, 2010. Visitation will be at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church located at 16075 North Evans Road in Selma, Texas from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. A Rosary Service will be at 1:00 P.M., with a Funeral Mass at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery on Nacogdoches Road in San Antonio.
