Belia Rendon passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born in Laredo, Texas, on August 29, 1926, to Sixto and Celia Barrera.
Belia dedicated her life to caring for others, beginning with her graduation from the nursing program at Mercy Hospital in Laredo. She later moved to San Antonio, where she worked for over 20 years in the nursery at Baptist Memorial Hospital, lovingly caring for countless newborns and supporting new mothers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hector Rendon, and her son, Mario Rendon.
She is cherished by her daughter, Elva Mata (Ruben); her grandchildren, Breye Mata and Mario Rendon; and three great-grandchildren. Belia's family will remember her for her kindness, strength, and devotion.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Esther Villarreal, who lovingly cared for Belia in the final years of her life, treating her as one of her own.
Belia's legacy of compassion and warmth lives on.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South.
