Jeremy Amesquita Obituary
Jeremy Joseph Amesquita, 30, a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 10 years Julissa Amesquita; parents Jacob and Josephine Amesquita; brother Jathan Amesquita (Alice); grandparents Daniel and Frances Garcia, Elvira Amesquita; beloved aunt Bertha Ramon and many loved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Jeremy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Lorenzo Amesquita, beloved uncle Ruben Ramon, uncle Manuel Garcia and cousins Michael Guevara, Tomas Amesquita and Claudio Vargas. Jeremy was a beautiful soul that will be missed by the many people who were fortunate enough to be a part of his life. God blessed him with a talent for music, playing multiple instruments with many different genres. He was a very loving and generous man. We were blessed for the time we had together with him. He will surely be missed. He just wanted people to say "Damn that boy could play". We wish to thank the staff of the CTRC, University Hospital Oncology (6th Floor), Methodist Hospital and Vitas Hospice for their care, compassion and love for Jeremy. To his brothers at the Nat M. Washer Lodge #1270, thank you. At this time, we will not be having a Funeral Service, per Jeremy's last wishes. May God Bless each and every one of you and may he comfort you, as he has us.

Thank you to all who have expressed their love and sorrow for my son Jeremy. Jeremy went to be with our Lord yesterday morning, May 15, 2013. His 4 year battle with cancer is finally over. Jeremy fought his battle as he lived his life, with strength and much determination. Reading thru his Facebook page, I read the many stories of how he affected so many lives and of how big his love was for his many friends. This is a true testament of the kind of person he was. Jeremy was so full of life. He could brighten up every gathering and make everyone laugh. Yes, he was very strong willed and could be difficult, but he had a heart of Gold and was always willing to help out anyone whom he met. Even as his days were getting closer, he still cared for our comfort and tried to make sure we were ok. Jeremy's passion was music and his Green Bay Packers. There was Jeremy with his Brett Favre Jersey. Always ready for each game. Jeremy was a self taught, talented musician. There wasn't any instrument that he wanted to play that he did not master. He learned to play drums at the age of 4 with his brother. Their drum set consisted of Avon boxes, a metal desk and the metal armrest to a flip out lounger. It is history from there. Jeremy played with such passion. Whether he was playing Tejano music with Eddie Guerrero, La Sombra de Tony Guerrero, Chevere with Rey Talamantez, Rock music with Structure, Church music at BRCC or just jammin' out with his friends Dustin and Amado, Jeremy gave it his all. His last “gig” was at his Brother Jay's wedding when they joined Grupo Vida on stage, Jay on Accordion and Jeremy on Bajo Sexto. They rocked the house. Am I a proud Mother? You bet I am. Jeremy accomplished more in his 30 years than most people accomplish in a lifetime. He is now making beautiful music, in Heaven, for our Lord. Until we meet again, my Angel, we will always carry you in our Hearts. I thank God for the time he gave us with you!

Jeremy touched my life briefly when he shared his talent and friendship with the Lozano boys. I remember that he was kind, respectful, smiled allot and Damn, that boy could play!
