Johnny Johnston Obituary

JOHNSTON
Lt. General (Retired) Johnny J. Johnston, USA, passed away September 5, 2012. He was born on December 23, 1928 in Farmersville, Texas, the youngest son of Herman and Mary Johnston. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Beverly Hale Johnston; his son, Greg and his wife, Sue; his daughter, Katherine Pittman; grandchildren: Shawna White and her husband, Chris, Corbin Boller and his significant other, Claudia Gutierrez, Janelle Lucio and her husband, Martin, Amanda, John, and Alexa Johnston, Rebecca Cox and her husband, Steven and Eric Andersen and his fiancé, Terri Bedore, as well as seven great-grandchildren. He retired January 1, 1988 from Headquarters 2nd U.S. Army and moved to San Antonio. He served as an Elder for the Sunset Ridge Church of Christ for five years. That duty was the culmination of his life's mission: his family, his church and The Army.
