Julio Ugalde Obituary
We are saddened that we have lost our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Julio V. Ugalde Jr., age 81, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, but are grateful for the many wonderful years he shared with us. He proudly served his country in the US Army for eight years. Julio met and married his high school sweetheart, Rosie and have been married for 59 wonderful years. He took pleasure in entertaining, loved to dance at Quinceanera's and fun-filled events. He was employed as Plant Manager at Bates for 11 years and with Gaylord Container as Supervisor for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Rosie K. Ugalde; daughters: Julia U. Cervantes and Patricia U. Valdez (Edmundo Jr.); grandchildren: Mandy Rose Huron (Roy), Erica M. Ugalde (Raymond), and Edmund U. Valdez III (Tiffany); great grandchildren: Jayden, Nina Izabella, Edmund Julio, Layla Mari-sol, Ashton and Brandon. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 25th, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with recitation of the rosary in the Chapel at Porter Loring on McCullough. On Friday, January 26th a procession departs the Chapel at 11:15 am for a Mass at 11:45 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 2829 Ackerman Rd. Interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Ugalde Family,
Rosie, we were saddened to read in newspaper that Julio passed away ,our condolences to you and your family.Its been almost 50 years since we lost contact. I used to work with you at Miller Curtain,Albert and Raul Rodriguez who worked there also were my uncles. Anyway, after we became friends we found out that your father-in-law was my husband, Adolfo's barber. When I had my first child,you and Julio baptized her, so we are actually compadres. We would have liked to attended the funeral , but I've been ill with a cold and cough. Again, our condolences, and may he rest in peace in God's Glory.

Julio, was a very giving and thoughtful person. Always there for anyone, for anything. He was more like a brother to Joe, my husband then a cousin. He will be greatly missed. Our deepest condolences to all the family. Rosie know that we will ALWAYS be here for you. You have always been there for us now it is our turn.
