Lillian English Obituary

Lillian F. English was born December 10, 1922, in San Antonio, TX. She went home to our LORD April 6, 2024. Lillian was a loving, faithful wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family. She was a member of the Lutheran Church. When married, she joined the Methodist Church. She was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated from San Antonio Vo-Tech High School in 1941. While working at Joske's and three days before her 19th birthday, Pearl Habor was attacked. December 15, 1941, she began working at Duncan Field (later named Kelly AFB) in the Civilian Personnel Office. Eventually, she became the supervisor of Civilian Personnel and retired from a civil service career of 31 years December 15, 1972. Lillian is preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, James Edwards English; parents Johanna and Emil Kraus; granddaughter Frances Faye English; grandson-in-law Lyle Crawford, Jr.; She is survived by daughter, Patricia Scharmann (Larry); son, Michael English (Elizabeth); 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, several grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South 1700 S.E. Military Dr. S.A. TX 78214. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 1:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South followed by interment at Mission Burial Park South.
