Natividad Garcia Obituary

GARCIA
Natividad Quiroz Garcia, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and
sister went into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday January 8th, 2013 at the age of 92. She was born on Christmas day December 1920 on a ranch in the west TX town of El Dorado. As a young girl she grew up in Ft. McKavett, TX. She attended school in a one room schoolhouse located on the fort grounds. She had a passion and artistic flair for creating quilts. She did so with so much love she often gave them away to family members. She enjoyed gardening and had two green thumbs. She could grow anything from a seed or cutting. She was a great cook and her tortillas from scratch were always enjoyed by her family. She truly enjoyed watching westerns on TV as they would remind her of growing up riding horses. Her love for the country way of life was immense. She was a faithful and devoted Roman Catholic as she would pray her rosary everyday without fail. She worshipped at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Our mother was a truly strong and amazing woman. Her sense of humor and belief that everyone was good set a wonderful example that we were privileged to experience. She could instantly befriend a stranger and forgive anyone that may have wronged her. "Dios Es Muy Grande" was a phrase she often said and a belief she lived by. Her heart was bigger than the Texas sky. She was proud of her family and we will forever be honored to call her Mother. She was preceded in death by her parents Santiago and Theresa Quiroz. Her husband of 52 yrs. Melecio Garcia. Her daughter Genoveva Lopez. Her sons Juan and Jose Garcia. Her brothers Santiago, David, Santos and Meliton Quiroz. Her sisters Polly Rios, Bea Alcoser, Lala Rendon and Isabel Malkowski. She is survived by her sons Joseph and Theodore (Eva) Garcia and Daughters, Sylvia Perez, Olivia (Henry) Martinez, Mary (Ron) Edwards, Theresa Craddock. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Sisters, Minga (Al) Lum, Mary (Leonides) Munoz and Chica Sustaita, sister-in-law Chana Quiroz.
Visitation will be held at Castle Ridge Mortuary, Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Services will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery No. II
