Sara E. Camargo

Sara Esparza Camargo entered rest on October 2, 2008 at the age of 98 years and 11 months. She was born on November 10, 1909 in Monterrey, Mexico to the late Magdalena and Esteban Esparza, being the youngest of seven children. The family immigrated to the U.S. in 1910. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Leopoldo Camargo, son, Richard E. Camargo, and great grandson, Adam Camargo. She is survived by her daughter, Alice Belmares and husband, Jimmie, son, Gene Camargo and wife, Mamie and daughters-in-law, Esperanza Camargo and Olivia Lara, 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. To her grandchildren she will always be remembered as "Memo". She will also be remembered for her hard work and total devotion to family on whom she imparted the highest of values and principles. Sara was a self-taught craftswoman who delighted in teaching others and leaves to her family many examples of her masterpieces. These talents were only rivaled by her cooking and baking abilities as well as her love for gardening. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Francis Nursing Home for all the love and care given to her during her stay. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 5, 3:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Alamo Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, October 6, 2008, 10:00 A.M. at St. Philip of Jesus Catholic Church with burial following at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery II. Alamo Funeral Home.
