Willa Lawson Obituary

Willa 'Jean' Lawson Friday died in her home on Monday, June 4, 2001. Born on March 22, 1931 in Oklahoma City, she was the embodiment of a caring person. All of her life, and even in the hour of her death, her thoughts were of her family and friends. Never complaining, the most important legacy of her time here was the love and care she gave to all who knew her. Jean's life was her four boys, Charles 'Mike' Murphy, who preceded her in death, Richard Lawson and wife Beth, Larry Lawson, and Bruce Lawson and fianc 5/8e Carol, all of Oklahoma City. She leaves behind her grandchildren, April DeQuasie and husband Brent, Carlye Lawson, Brandon Lawson, Ricky Lawson, and great-granddaughters, McCall and McKaelyn DeQuasie. Also her brothers and sister, Charles Houk of California, Tom Houk of Houston, TX, Pam Airington of Norman; five nieces and five nephews. Jean is also survived by her mother, Mary Houk of Norman, OK, and preceded in death by her father, Ray E. Houk. A Funeral Service to celebrate her life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 8, 2001 at the Bill Merrit Memorial Chapel in Bethany with Burial to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City. Arrangements are being handled by Bill Merrit Funeral Service.
