ANNE CAMACHO Obituary

CAMACHO, ANNE LOU July 9, 1924 to March 16, 2011 Anne Lou Camacho was born in Whitley City, Kentucky in 1924 and passed on to a better place on March 16, 2011. She died in the arms of her daughter, at home where she was at peace. She leaves behind her son; Joe Camacho III, her daughter; Thelma Camacho Ivie, and two grandchildren, Joseph Camacho IV and Jeremiah Ivie. Anne was a kind and loving mother, grandmother and a friend to all she met. She was a resident of National City for 57 years before coming to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Robert Ivie at their home in Chula Vista. Anne was married to National City Councilman Louie Camacho for 42 years and together they gave countless hours to their community. Anne worked tirelessly as a volunteer for The Friends of the National City Library, The Girls Club, the preservation of Granger Hall and the Historical Home Tours. She wrote a column for the Star News called Annie's Antics as reading and writing was one of her many loves. However, Anne loved nothing more than her children setting them above all else in her life. She will be missed. There will be a short ceremony at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery on Friday the 20th of May at 10:00 a.m.

Your mother touch many lives in her life, I knew her as a young wife in National City along with your father. She was an angel on earth and always was in the fore front of helping others. My memories are many and it was a blessing to know her.

Dear Thelma, Joe and family

I read about the passing of your dear beautiful mother yesterday and I send my sincerest condolences to you and your family. My dear mother, who passed away a year and a half ago, and I, first met you and your mother (and brother Joe) when you and I auditioned for several roles at Starlight Opera in 1963 (The King & I - Around the World in 80 Days, etc!) We now live in La Jolla and I am so sorry that we did not visit your jewlery shoppe when my mom was alive and living with us there. We would have loved to have seen you both ! Are you still singing? I went back to my music for a short while, until mom passed away. I remember our moms were our best supporters!!
Take care and our thoughts are with you all
