Clay Randall Pardee

Clay Randall Pardee, 48 ENCINITAS -- Born August 30, 1960, Clay Pardee grew up in Woodland Hills and Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., and was a long time resident of North San Diego County. He traveled extensively throughout the United States making life long friends along the way. An avid naturalist, he enjoyed spending time on the Oregon coast. Clay played the guitar and piano, carved bamboo flutes, and enjoyed giving guitar instruction to friends on the beach in San Juan Capistrano. During his life Clay worked in a number of trades. He operated his own roofing and painting business, and worked briefly as an interstate truck driver. Clay was a Christian, who once took off his shoes and gave them to a barefooted, homeless man, telling him "God will provide me with another pair." Clay is survived by his mother, Muriel Pardee Baze; brothers, Cole, Peter and Jonathan Pardee and his sister, Dana Pardee, all of San Diego. His father, Donald Pardee, lives in Palm Bay, Fla. His loving girlfriend, Maggie Nichols, lives in Encinitas. Clay was killed September 9th by a single gunshot. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 25, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Encinitas with a sunset tribute to follow at Moonlight Beach Overlook Park at 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the charity of your choice.
