Dorothy G. Tulacz YUCAIPA / BIG BEAR / FAWNSKIN -- Dorothy G. Tulacz, my Godmother, walked lovingly into the arms of her Lord on Friday, July 11, 2008. The amazing love of her family and friends can never be replaced. Her earthly presence was temporary, allowing all of us to know and love the best that God had to offer. We were so honored to know her. God could not wait for her any longer and sent her a one way ticket to her new home. She is now in the company of all those who have passed before, especially my mom and sister, Dorothy Skvaril and Mary Lou Steele. Together, they are comparing card making and sharing funny family stories. Dorothy Tulacz was one of a kind. Everything she did was with expertise and love. Her creativity with knitting and scrap booking will be cherished for generations. It will be difficult to find another Godmother, mother, grandmother, and friend, who always thought about others before herself. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of more than 60 years, Stanley (Tex) Tulacz. Together, they built their dream home in Big Bear, California. By the grace of God, their home survived the recent fires in the mountains. At this time also, illness forced them to move to a lower elevation in Yucaipa, worrying each minute if they will ever see their "castle" again. Dorothy never had that opportunity as her gracious time among us was called to an end. Dorothy exemplified the Catholic faith. At times, it felt that you were in the presence of an angel on earth. That faith is shared by her surviving family members: daughter, Sr. M. Rose Marie Tulacz; son, John and his wonderful wife, Liz Tulacz; and three incredible granddaughters, Megan, Shawn, and Michele, from London, New York, and L.A. They will never have a shortage of fantastic and memorable stories to pass down to their children about their grandmother. The Christianity, love and respect that they shared with everyone, including myself, transferred to my daughter, Richelle, as there could not have been a better choice of Godparents for her. Twenty-eight years ago, they said yes again, and became her "spiritual guidance counselors" also. The Rosary has been said, the funeral Mass has taken place, and she now rests in peace. Even though we will never see her or hear her voice again, there is a sense that she is still here, making sure we are all doing what we should be doing, guiding us from above. Until I meet up with you again Dorothy, you will always be here in my heart. Sign the Guest Book online
