George had a life-long interest in military history, particularly the American Revolutionary and Civil Wars and World War II. He thoroughly investigated his genealogical heritage from Wales. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, Lionel train expert, hiker and backpacker. He and Marion spent his final years as residents at La Costa Glen in Carlsbad where they developed many devoted friends.George served as an ordained Elder at Tustin Presbyterian Church where he was committed to stewardship and mission outreach. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Marion Albertson Evans; his children Grant Downing Evans, Gwyn David Evans and Leigh Virginia Evans; daughter-in-law Dodie Kamp-Evans; son-in-laws Tim Thomson and Richard Gusberg; grandchildren Ali Healy, Jessica Gusberg, Spencer Gusberg, Scout Kemper, Ben Gusberg and great-grandchild Aya Gusberg. While I did not know George, I did Marion where we worked as volunteers in the ministry of the Los Ranchos Presbytery. We are privileged to have both of them in our lives and our thoughts are with the families

While I did not know George, I did Marion where we both served as volunteers in the work of Los Ranchos Presbytery. Wonderful people with whom we were privileged to have in our lives
