Not a day goes by that I miss my big brother, mentor, amazing and outstanding drummer, my music FUNK partner. Anything that pertained to funk bands or solo artist, we were on it.

From ZAPP, EWF, SLAVE, HEATWAVE and the list goes on... we talk for hours on concerts.

When it came to handling funeral business, he was the most respected Mortician in the city limits, outside the city limits and all 50 States. Everyone has heard of THE RAGSDALES.

What a family to know and Love!!! I learned so much from Ragsdale II and III. They will always be truly missed

One Love always and forever DOCTA’ RAGS!!!!!

My cousin Skipper showed the highest level of professionalism in the mortuary business. I remember seeing him at the House of Blue, he came and tapped me on the shoulder and said Hello cousin ❤ even though we had only encountered each other a few times, he was a wonderful person with warm eyes and a smile that was the most welcoming. Rest in Peace in Heaven my cousin Prayers for the family. Cheryl Ragsdale, San Diego

Skipper is the only name I know. To Rosalind and I he was the pesty big brother who teased us and who we thought was so talented because he could play those drums. He was a friend and also my godfather, whom I loved. Skipper comforted my family when my sister, my mother, and my father passed away. I was saddened as my family and sister Lee to hear of his passing. Valerie and Derick our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

My sincere condolences to the Ragsdale family. Skipper was a friend from childhood and the only person I would trust with my own mother's funeral arrangements. He was admired by many, and will be missed by all.

The light is out but the memories will glow forever. Skipper, you are such a blessing to so many of us and we will forever hold you in a special place in our hearts. The Howard family goes way back to the business when it was on Imperial Ave. Playing with Rosalyn, and watching the business grow and then move to its current location. ...lots of memories. You buried 9 of the Howard family members and each time was done with love and tender care. I/We love you so very muchRest In Peace

Mr. Skipper Ragsdale was one of the kindest gentlemen I have ever met. He approached everyone with a loving,quiet-spoken, and comforting demeanor. It is no wonder that he was such a successful mortician; he brought comfort to so many families in San Diego..The entire community mourn his untimely passing and appreciate the legacy of service that his family has brought to us during our most challenging moments. We are grateful. Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends, along with all of the employees of Anderson-Ragsdale Mortuary. May Skipper rest in peace and rise in Glory.

Had the privilege of working for him and his dad.
He has graduated. More power to him. He will be and is already missed, but we are all here to graduate. He has reached the highest graduation. God Bless him for what he did on earth and God Bless his family to get through the troubled waters.

MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY,FOR YOUR LOSS!

Rev. JaNice Winston

February 6, 2018

May The Lord comfort you and the family in your fresh hour of grief. To be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord. Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. While waiting for your joy to return and as you go through the grieving stage keep your hand in the hand of the One that stills the water. Trust God and He will take care of you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Skipper & I go back 27 years to another place & time. His passing weighs heavy on my heart. Just knowing he was a phone call away brought me peace. My sadness will turn to joy for having had him in my life, but I will always miss his booming voice calling "baby boy" & a great hug! Jay P. Seattle by way of Houston and Lukey
