Howard was an inspirational musician and dear friend. I loved his sense of humor and our many long conversations about life and music. He will not be forgotten.

Though I only met Howard a couple of times he left me with a legacy of love of beautiful music and of spirituality for which I am grateful. I particularly remember a visit with Howard when I was a freshman at SDSU where he gave me a piano lesson. May he rest in peace.

I believe Howard and I are 3rd cousins. He and my mother were kindred spirits, linked by their many varied interests in music, art, antiques, books and the spiritual journey. I became acquainted with Howard in my early 20s and found him utterly fascinating and charming. He helped open up the world of music for me and it has been a lifelong passion. He was also a stimulating companion to my personal spiritual journey into the Catholic church. I treasure my memories of him. May he rest in peace. Amen
