Manuel Valverde Obituary

Manuel Jesus Valverde December 9, 1933 - August 31, 2018 Escondido Manuel J. Valverde passed away peacefully on August 31, 2018. He lived most of his life in the Escondido/Valley Center area. In 1955, he was drafted and served in the US Army during the initial outbreak of the Vietnam War. He then began a career in road construction until his retirement. He loved gardening, fishing, thrift shop shopping, and time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Orosco Valverde, daughter and son-in-law Anna and John Konyn, their sons John Paul (Chelsea), Stephen, Luke, and Michael Konyn, daughter Monica Valverde and her son Kyle Kittredge, daughter Norma Valverde and her six children and twelve grandchildren, son Richard Valverde and his three children, his sister Elvira Munoz, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Enrique "Rico" Valverde. A celebration mass of Manuel's life will be held Monday, September 10th at 10:00 am at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Valley Center, with burial at 2:30pm at Oak Hill Memorial Park in Escondido.
