While a student at Bethel Seminary (St. Paul, MN) from 1968 to 1972 it was my privilege to study Hebrew and Ugaritic under Dr. Ronald Youngblood. He was also our tour guide to Israel, January 1970. Ron's wit coupled with his breadth of knowledge greatly influenced my own development as a Christian, a chaplain, and a teacher. Ron was more than a teacher, he was a friend in every sense of the word.

We were so blessed to have Dr. Youngblood at Bethel Seminary. He exemplified obedience in purity and humbleness. May it be instilled in us forever.

May we all live such a humbled and pure life as did Dr. Youngblood! We were all blessed to study and glean in his giftedness!

The best OT professor around. Dr. Youngblood was an inspiration to many, including myself. A professional scholar but with a wit that could light up the classroom, this was a man who I was blessed to know. I had a chance to travel to the Holy Land with him in 1990, and the memories my wife and I will always have are cherished. Blessings to his family.
