Dalton "Kent" Neal

Dalton Neal Obituary

Dalton "Kent" Neal, 70, died after a tough battle with brain cancer Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009. Kent was born to the late Florene and James Neal in Salinas, Calif.

He moved to Arroyo Grande after graduation from high school and became an apprentice of IBEW Local 639 in San Luis Obispo.

He retired in 1998 and spent his time fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved being out in nature and volunteered for the Dept. of Forestry clearing paths at Lopez Lake to ensure safety.

Kent is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Rose Ellen; daughters Terrie McMillan, Julie Neal and Sandra Burnette; sister, Juanita Wells; brother, James Neal Jr.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a large extended family.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a future date to be determined.

The family wishes to thank all of the doctors, staff, and other caregivers who cared for him during his illness.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast.
