Brian Middough Obituary

Brian Sheridan Middough, 67, passed away on August 23, 2023, from complications due to end stage renal disease and type 1 diabetes. Brian was born in Pasadena, California to Miles Sheridan and Rena Jean Middough. He is survived by his mother; his siblings, Mindy Pedlar and Martin Middough; his two sons, Adam and Scott; his grandson Kyler; and by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws, all of whom he loved dearly. Brian grew up in various locales in Southern California, including Manhattan Beach, Huntington Beach and Long Beach, where he excelled in sports, particularly baseball. He ultimately became a very accomplished commercial and residential painting contractor, primarily in Orange and Riverside Counties, before retiring to the Santa Cruz area to be near his sister and her son, Joe Corsentino, and to deal with his failing health. Brian's first love was family and friends. He also took great pleasure in playing and following sports and was passionate about music. He started playing the guitar and piano at an early age, initially writing and performing songs with his brother Marty. Later in life he composed, performed and published albums of his original works (listen on Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube). Brian was generous to a fault and cared deeply for the members of his painting crews and their well-being. Most recently, he admired and appreciated his doctors and healthcare workers, and was very grateful for his caregivers and friends at Sunshine Villa, occasionally delighting them with piano concerts. Finally, Brian was always the most affable and neighborly guy anyone had ever met. To Brian, every new person he ran into was a friend he just hadn't met yet. Contributions in Brian's memory may be made to Cabrillo Stage. Brian was a huge fan of musical theater and loved supporting all of the actors, directors, crew and especially his sister, Mindy. https://foundation.cabrillo.edu/donate-2/ Select "Cabrillo Stage" under 'Where to Direct Gift' and add "In memory of Brian Middough "in 'Notes'. Rest in Heavenly peace Brian. I am heartbroken to see this so late. Brian had such a major impact on me and my out look on life. He cared about the well being of his neighbor. He loved the youth and the elderly and everyone in between. He went out of his way to make sure you were doing well and if you needed advice or anything you could count on him. He was extremely wise and always had a great outlook on life despite any circumstance. He loved his beautiful family so much and talked so highly of everyone always, it was refreshing to hear this. He was musically inclined and took the time to also teach others about the joy of music. I am beyond blessed to have gotten to know Brian! My condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Peace Brian

Brian was good friends w my brother Bruce Stamper. At Carden Hall, I remember him as a vibrant, energetic, handsome, kind and very smart guy, of whom Mrs. Gilbert was very fond. RIP, dear Brian.
