Leah Erickson Obituary

Leah Erickson
May 24, 1950 - August 5, 2022
25-year resident of Boulder Creek
Leah was born in Levittown New York and her spirit of adventure took her to far and wide across the county exploring new places and seeking new challenges. She even hitchhiked across the entire country with a friend of hers sometime back in 1970, when it was the thing to do, and considered somewhat safe.
Leah chose a career in health care and worked her way up through the ranks from Licensed Practical Nurse, to Registered Nurse then Certified Nurse Midwife and finely Family Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant. Of all the positions and various roles Leah held it was midwifery that really made her thrive. She had a career total of 602 deliveries, but it was her second to last one that really meant something special, and that was being able to deliver her own granddaughter Sariah. It was also during one of those 602 deliveries that she met Lawrence, who eventually became her husband of 30 years.
Being one never willing to turn down a challenge Leah overcame her intense fear of flying by going to flight school and eventually obtaining her private pilot's license. The last plane Leah got to fly was a WWII era P-51 Mustang!
Leah had a love for nature and enjoyed keying out plants and animals of all types. She would pick up snakes and lizards and had a keen eye for spotting them. She also had a tremendous affection for dogs, especially Golden Retrievers, and they were a big part of her life.
Leah was preceded by her parents Irving Tim, and Beverly Gieir, and is survived by her husband Lawrence, son's Isaiah and Josh, grandchildren Sariah, Nolan, and Cub, and her sisters Ann and Sandy. She will be greatly missed by everyone who was ever touched by her.
