Rickie Rackley Memoriam

Rickie Louis Rackley Resident of Watsonville Age 53, born in Watsonville to Orville Jr. and Dolores Rackley passed away while surrounded by family members at home. He left us to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the morning of September 29, 2012 after a short battle with cancer. Rickie was well known for his great smile, jokes and being the life of the party. He enjoyed motocross racing, motorcycles and racing in general, sports cars, boats, bicycling and camping activities. He lived on Maui the last five years and enjoyed all the beach activities; wind surfing, snorkeling, sun bathing and riding his bicycle 50 to 60 miles a day. He leaves behind many family members and countless number of friends. Surviving him are: daughter Maygan Rackley, Mother Dolores Rackley, Brothers Ron Rackley (Jan), Rex Rackley (Brenda), Sister Rachelle Martinez (Larry). A celebration of life will be held at the First Baptist Church of Watsonville at 101 Madison St. on Friday October 5th at 3PM. With Rickie's love for cars and motorcycles the family would encourage any attendee's to bring your hot rod or bike to the celebration. Parking will be provided between the church and youth house. In lieu of flowers the family would like to request any donations be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz County. 831.430.3000 in memory of Rickie Rackley. We had a good tine going to the races together. It was always a good group of people, and your humor was always there. You were always in a good mood and always made people laugh. You'll be missed. Condolences to your family on their loss.

Words cannot express my sadness and heartfelt sympathy for Rickie's family, 53 is much too soon. All the other condolences here mention Rickie's beautiful smile, it was nice. I can't remember the last time I saw him, maybe 1977 at graduation, at the beach? But I remember him like it was yesterday. Rest in peace friend.
