Ryan Gleason Obituary

We are mourning the untimely death of a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, Ryan Dean Gleason. He was 49.Ryan was born in San Jose and graduated from Armijo High in Fairfield. After receiving his Associates Degree, he embarked on a career in the non-profit industry, first with Salvation Army, and for the last 19 years with Goodwill Industries. As Operation Manager of Goodwill Silicon Valley, he received many accolades for modernizing and streamlining their vast donated goods processing, recycling, and transportation activities. Ryan then brought his intense curiosity, insatiable thirst for data and his refreshing creativity to Goodwill Central Coast in Salinas. He served as their Director of Operations in the Retail Division with distinction and, frankly, with happiness. Fond memories will continue to be cherished of Ryan's love of Boulder Creek, living among the redwoods and teaching himself to play the guitar. He was a skilled remodeler, good with tools and generous with his time helping others. Ryan was an aficionado of fine watches and enjoyed collecting and learning about their creation. Ryan spent every waking moment focused on his family. He always looked forward to spending time with and enjoying the children. Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dean Gleason. He is survived by his beloved wife Stacy, his sons Ivan and Remy, his daughter Rose, his mother Evelyn, his sisters Tracy, Sara, Kimberly and Jennifer, his brother Scott, his nieces Lily and Mila, and many loving members of the Gleason, Conn, and Pearson families. Family and friends will begin gathering at 1 p.m. on Thursday May 4 at Highlands Park 8500 Hwy 9, in Ben Lomond. Upon arrival, all are encouraged to have personal reflection of Ryan to share, either written or verbal. Beginning at 2 p.m., we will bring our sadness and our joys together and wish him Godspeed on a journey that will certainly lead him to more happiness by helping others.A bank account has been opened for his children's education. A check made payable to Ivan Gleason may be mailed to Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel, and it will be delivered to Wells Fargo Bank.

My deepest sympathy to Ryan's family. I worked with Ryan at GWSV. At first I found him a bit intimidating but once I got to know him he became a good friend. Whenever I had a problem he was always there to give the best. When I decided to leave GWSV he was the first one to wish me luck. You will be missed and be at peace.

My sincerest condolences to the Gleason family and close friends. I have lived out in Utah since 2017 and have heard or seen Ryan since 2014 but when a friend sent me the news on this tragedy, I had memories instantly pop up with him. I also went through the SJ ARC back in 2005 then went and worked under Ryan at the GoodWill for about 7yrs as a driver. I have only good memories like 1 year we had the October fest at the Goodwill. One of the activities was the high heel race. I watched him and others rush to pick out the lowest and flattest heels possible to race in and he laughed at me cause I got stuck with 6" stilettos lol. His laughter/encouragement kept everyone having fun that day. Sure glad I got to be apart of his life cause he had many positive effects on mine. Rest Easy Ryan

This is really hard. I went through ARC program with Ryan in the summer of 2001, I worked with him at both places in San Jose post program the following years till 2012. He was my boss, my friend and my brother.

My deepest condolences to all of the Gleason family I am so sorry for your loss. I met Ryan in late 2002 at the Salvation Army he was in charge of shipping at the time. He lived next door at Bridgewater and we all looked up to the guys that had graduated. He became the director of production shortly after I graduated and I was just starting to drive truck for the Sally. Ryan took the time to develop me as a route driver and believed in me as I became one of there best drivers at that time along with Jonathan Frederick we rocked the Sally!!! Ryan left for Goodwill and I decided to follow him six months later where we worked together until I retired in 2017. Ryan was more than my boss, supervisor, he was my friend and I will miss him deeply. God speed my friend

Time and distance may have separated us, but I fondly remember our time together as colleagues and friends. The good times we spent on the golf course were priceless - the fresh air, the camaraderie, and the carefree spirit we enjoyed were all great. Rest in peace, my friend.

Ryan,
I had the privilege of being one of your employees at the Goodwill Central Coast. When I first began working there I was so intimidated by you but over time I realized how cool and funny you were. That joke you made about me will always be my best memory with you, Richard and I still talk about it pretty often. Getting to know you over the few years I was there was the easy part, saying goodbye to you is so hard. You were a great boss Ryan and I will never forget the advice and memories I have of you. I wish you knew how much of an impact you had on me and I know there are many others who feel the same way. Rest in Peace Ryan you will truly be missed.
