Frank Garcia Obituary

Frank David Garcia

1962 - 2023

Frank David Garcia was born on September 13, 1962 in Tulare CA. He went to his eternal rest on June 12, 2023, after a brief illness. David was the first son born to Pastor Catarino Garcia & his wife Anita after 7 daughters! He was then joined by his little brother James, four years later.

David moved to Santa Maria CA with his family in 1967 where he attended Oakley Elementary and El Camino Junior High, graduating from Santa Maria High School with the Class of 1980. He also attended Allan Hancock College where he received an Administrative Office Skills Certificate in 2006. He discovered his poetic nature while attending Hancock and was honored to have some of his works published in the Harvest Publication of the College. David had a creative mind and loved to write - he had beautiful penmanship.

David enjoyed a career in the retail industry meeting and talking to people everywhere he went. You couldn't go anywhere in town without running into one of his friends. He enjoyed watching movies and baking. And boy, did he love to bake! He would bake a cake or make cupcakes to share with family, friends, and neighbors. David also loved the holidays. He would decorate for every holiday - big or small. He had an extensive Snowman collection and recently started collecting gnomes. David loved to dance and listen to oldies, even as he fought to regain his health, it was the music that brought him joy.

David is survived by his siblings; Madge Tapia (Rudy), Arroyo Grande, CA; Dina Nunez (Frank), Union City, CA; Abigail Garcia, Nipomo, CA; Gloria Ortaleza (Fred), Orcutt, CA; Carol Wilson (Ron), San Antonio, TX; Jovitta Armenta (Cliff), San Antonio, TX; and James Garcia, Dallas, TX. He is survived by many nieces and nephews and countless relatives and friends. David is preceded in death by his parents Pastor Catarino & Anita Garcia and his beloved sister Elizabeth (Chickadee) Garcia.

The family would like to give God the glory for his peace on David in his final days. David loved the Lord and is now resting in the Lord. The family would also like to thank those who so lovingly cared for David in the last months of his life, the nurses of the Telemetry Unit at Marian Medical Center, and the many angels and caregivers at the Buena Vista Care Center in Goleta.

Please join us as we celebrate David's Life at the Atkinson Park Community Center, 1000 North Railroad Avenue, Santa Maria CA 93458 on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m. Private graveside services will be conducted.
