Anthony DiDonna Obituary

Anthony J. DiDonna MYRTLE BEACH, SC-Anthony J. DiDonna, formerly of Saratoga Springs, died suddenly at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston on October 14, 2011. He was 67. Son of the late Anthony and Mary (Caruso) DiDonna he was a communicant at Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Mont Pleasant and graduated from Linton High School in 1963. Anthony enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the "Black Cats" in Viet Nam. Following his honorary discharge, he attended Dutchess Community College where he was president of his class and graduated in 1969. He was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections for over 25 years and retired at the rank of Lieutenant in 1994. In addition, he was a partner in DiDonna's Restaurant and Marina on Saratoga Lake. As a volunteer, he served as member of the Gansevoort Fire Department and as member of the Honor Guard at the Saratoga National Cemetery. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Margaret (Coffee) DiDonna and his brother Angelo DiDonna. He is survived by his wife Patricia (Rogers) DiDonna, his son Timothy DiDonna of Saratoga Lake, his daughters Toni Marie DiDonna of Saratoga Lake and Tara Ann DiDonna of Round Lake, his brothers August DiDonna of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Joseph (Amy) DiDonna of Saratoga Lake and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service will be held at St. Therese Chapel in Gansevoort at 10:55 am today, followed by interment at the Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America, 706 Haddonfield Road, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08002.
