ROCK FALLS – Austin Earl Walters, 27, of Rock Falls, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.
Austin was born June 21, 1993 in Sterling, IL. He spent the majority of his life in Prophetstown, IL, where he attended school, played basketball, and formed lasting friendships. Most recently, he was employed as a millwright at Vern's Farm Supply, working alongside some of his best friends. Austin had a lifelong passion for fishing. After his GG passed away, he took her old record player and collecting vintage vinyl records became a new hobby. He particularly loved listening to Frank Sinatra. Austin also loved telling hilarious (sometimes inappropriate) jokes. His personality was truly contagious and was always able to make those around him laugh.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Hope and Jason Anderson of Rock Falls, IL; his sister, Alexandria Walters (Kaylin) of Dixon, IL; his uncle, Scott Thorpe; his girlfriend, Heather Dice; grandparents, Kay and Leonard Byington of Lyndon, IL; his grandpa, William Thorpe; his beloved dog, Crixus, countless extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved great-grandmother, GG.
A visitation allowing 50 people at a time will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 5 to 7 p.m.. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, 1002 12th Avenue. A private family funeral service will take place prior to visitation with Pastor Wesley Dickson officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the family.

I had never met Austin but I know he was probably a great person. Hope is so caring and a great mother. I know anyone who has lived with Hope as been instilled her great personality and caring heart. God will give you strength Hope and memories will keep him in your heart

As we settle into our lives, we do not always take the time to see each other thrive and flourish or share in fellowship be it with family or friends. Things are assumed, feelings not clarified and too often we say tomorrow. Austin had many great qualities. He truly exemplified Kindness up and beyond most.
Kindness is not taught or learned, much like grace you must reach deep down inside of yourself and find it. Genuine kindness is the ultimate strength. Austin's strength was unmatched.
Always exploring and open to trying new things and asking questions to learn and grow. As many do, he was continuously searching for his place and his niche.' Though he was soft-spoken, he was a born leader through his actions. We should all look inside to re-acquaint ourselves of this quality that came so naturally, effortlessly, and uncomplicated to him.
Austin was his own kind of beautiful, he had the courage to be kind where others fall short. Never expecting anything in return, he knew a single act of kindness could change someone's day.
A beautiful face will age; a beautiful body will change, but a beautiful, gentle, thoughtful, kind, and loving soul will always be a beautiful, gentle, thoughtful, kind, and loving soul.
This is how I remember my Nephew, Austin Earl, aka Walt.
