I had the privelege of being able to see and speak with AJ a few very precious times these past four years. I met AJ through my wife (his granddaughter) Brandy, as he finished out his years in the nursing home by Lumber City. He was funny, charming, and sometimes downright crass. But he truly loved his visits from his granddaughter. Brandy truly loved AJ as well, and she just lit up when she was around him. AJ always seemed to come back to vibrant life everytime she was there. Whether is was feeding AJ chocolate "siverbells", and cookies, or to lotion his hands and just talk to him, Brandy truly was an Angel in AJ's world. For my own part, it was nice to have "grand-son-in-law" status from a Grandpa again, even for a short time. I thank God for AJ, and how much he meant to my wife, and her mother.

Family:
At times like this, memories from the past drift across our minds. As we grew up together in the 50's & 60's life was somewhat simpler, and more enjoyable, I might add. We knew people on a very personal basis. I remember some of the times I spent in your home and likewise your family in ours. But life moves on and unfortunately, death is the most certain part of life. What an oxymoron! My prayer is that you will remember the good times, make the most of family relationship and friendships. May God's grace uplift and support you in this time of loss.
