David Starnes Memoriam

In Loving Memory Of David Starnes, Jr. May 2, 1943 - May 13, 2007 A third spring has now arrived since the tragic and senseless death of an only son, an only brother, and only uncle, who was taken from us on Mother's Day, Sunday May 13, 2007 . Time still has not healed this wound and our family circle remains shattered, our hearts broken, and closure continues to elude us. This month will be bittersweet for our family as we gather for the wedding of his youngest sister, but there will be an empty seat, an unread poem, an unspoken toast. How David would have loved to celebrate this occasion and to know his new extended family. And how they would have loved knowing his warmth, wit and wisdom. His loss continues to be felt not only by those who knew him but also by those who never had the chance. David loved books, poetry, flowers, films. music, art, people, nature and life but most of all he loved his family and friends. When you see a beautiful sunrise, sunset, rainbow, read a touching poem, see a lovely picture, or feel a special love for someone, think of David. He would be so pleased and grateful. Our lives will be forever enriched by him but forever saddened by our loss. From all his loving family.
