Not sure what to say?

January 24, 2014

Words can not express the way I feel about the lost of such a friend. I would wake up to the sound of my phone ringing in the we hours of the morning and on the other end is Mr. Moore saying, "wake up, what are you doing", and I'll response, "sleeping what you think" and then he'll say, "your phone man that's what I be talking about". Well, Mr. Moore answered his call from the Lord and now he is talking his rest. Dea. and Mrs. Moore we can be assured that one day we will see that sweet smile and gentle spirit again. For now cherish the memories and hold tight to each other and other family members because God will comfort you. I'll be praying for you all. With much sympathy and love, Sharon Hardy Cooper (Nicey Hardy)neighbor and friend.

It has taken me this long to express the grief I am experiencing since learning of "Minute's" passing. I can not say anything any different than the many accolades already stated for such a kind and gentle spirit. Gene was younger than us, but he was still well known in Carver Village, and even though I had not seen nor spoke to him since graduating Jenkins in 1977 we reunited earlier last year and he was still the same gentle giant he was as a kid. What I take away from this is the love Gene had for his family, each time we were together he never failed to speak to Mrs. Betty I am so sorry for your loss Dea. and Mrs. Moore, because if we loved Gene this deep I can not begin to imagine your pain. However, I am sure you have the same assurance that I do, that Gene has a Heavenly home because of your Christian teachings from a child, and we will all see him again some day. Thank You Minute for being my friend then and now.

Please accept my sincere sympathy in your loss. I am trusting that God will grant you comfort and peace in the midst of your storm. Words cannot express the hurt in losing a chidhood friend. My family were the Reid's and we lived on the corner of Googe Street (1001). Although, many years have passed since I have seen Minute,I can recall fond childhood memories.
