Tank,

All of this still seem so hard to believe.I guess you never realize how much you value a person until they are gone and you realize there are so many things that were left unsaid.Thank you for that million dollar smile that just brightened so many situations.Thank you for just being apart of Austins life.Tank you were always there to listen when I just needed to vent.I treasure the friendship that we had.All in all you were a good person.Thank you for bringing such a sweet person into Austins life(Lavonnia).

Lavonnia,

I know things seem rough now but we all know our help comes from the Lord. You are a jewel(precious and rare) dont ever let no one tell you otherwise. Just be strong keep trusting and believing in God. I pray that you keep Tanks memory alive and let Tanka always remember what a good father he had and how much Tank loved him.

We truly lost something special when we lost our beloved Tank.

Farewell to a Friend

There just doesn't seem to be an easy way to say goodbye to you.

I'm so grateful everything that we have shared- so many good times and so much laughter!!

It's really hard to imagine what things would be like without you.

Just know that when I think of you as I so often will, it's the memories of those times that will come to mind........

And it's those times and those thoughts of you that will always stay in my mind and in my heart!!!!!

A Traveler Coming Home

A traveler ventured forth on day upon a winding road, with Faith and Trust to lead the way, with strenghth and will to bear his heavy load.

And at a slow but steady pace, in the cold of the storm, in the warmth of the sun, he journeyed from place to place and gained some value from each one.

Until at last one quiet night, he climbed a hill's soft -rounding crest and saw afar a single light that seemed to promise peace and rest.

And following it's glow, he came upon the house from which it shone, A voice inside called out his name and told him he was truly home.

Now all of us must travel too, like Tank's our path's wind slowly on, and surely when the course is through, a welcome comfort waits beyond.

May we believe that sweet content is earned by all those miles passed and never doubt that each traveler's meant to reach a loving home at last!!!

To Lavonnia, Tanka, and Austin may you find comfort in knowing that Tank is home at last and at the comfort of God's right hand side!

My heart goes out to you. I just found out and I am in a state of disbelief, I can remember the days when Tank would come through Oak Forest blasting his music speeding through the neighborhood with a big smile on his face..Moreover the days he would be at school leaning on the wall checking everybody that passed by..The last time I saw him was about 3to4 yrs.. I can say he will truly be missed. If for any reason you'll need anything please feel free to email me.

I would like to take this chance to celebrate the life of a father,a husband,a son, a brother, and a friend. I knew Tank as someone whom kept a smile on his face regardless of the situation. He always persued a better life for himself and those that he was responsible for. I remember how we would argue about who was the best looking only to have the results given by a stranger. We did not need to see each other daily to remain on the same level of respect for one another but only remembered the times that we made it through. If you were blessed enough to truly know him you would know that his accomplishments were many and far beyond expectations. I thank you Tank for not giving up, for not giving in and for being an example to our brothers and sisters. For showing that where there is a will there is a way. Even for a little kid from the small town of Thunderbolt! You have done well my friend. You have done well.To me you are not lost at sea brother YOU ARE HOME! With love "BIG TRAP"

Daddy when are you coming home?

I’m already there

Take a look around

I’m the sunshine in your hair

I’m the shadow on the ground

I’m the whisper in the wind

I’m your imaginary friend

And I know I’m in your prayers

I’m already there

I know that I’ll be in your dreams tonight

So turn out the light and close your eyes

I’m already there

Don’t make a sound

I’m the beat in your heart

I’m the moonlight shining down

I’m the whisper in the wind

And I’ll be there until the end

Can you feel the love that we share

I’m already there

We may be a thousand miles apart

But I’ll be with you wherever you are

Oh I’m already there

TANK Don’t worry about the kids they’ll be alright

Lavonnia keep your head up and remember all the special times that only you and your husband Tank shared. Austin always remember the good times you and your father shared(the zoo and Tank trying to teach you to skate and the many more). WHAT'S UP CUZIN,

BOY, WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO AND SCARE THE FAMILY BY DISAPPEARING.YOU GOT EVERYBODY CRYING AND WAITING FOR YOUR ARRIVAL AND YOU NEVERED SHOWED UP. I WOULD ASK WHY, BUT I CAN'T QUESTION GOD'S REASON FOR THE THING THAT HE DOES. NOW YOU KNOW THAT I EXPECTED A LOT OUT OF YOU, BECAUSE YOU WERE MY MOTIVATOR. NOW I MUST ADMIT, I'M HURT AND I DON'T WHY THESE THINGS HAPPEN. I MISS YOU SO MUCH AND YOUR FAMILY WILL BE OKAY.I JUST WANT YOU TO MAKE ME ONE "PROMISE," HELP UNCLE DERICK TAKE CARE OF GRANDMA AND SHE'LL PROBABLY BAKE YOU SO CAKES UP THERE. PLEASE CONTINUE TO LOOK DOWN ON YOUR FAMILY, YOUR WIFE,KIDS,MOTHER AND ANYONE THAT MEANT SOMETHING IN YOUR HEART. YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY "BUBBIE". KEEP IT REAL, AND REMEMBER THAT I LOVE YOU.

I MISS YOU DADDY
Dear GOD,
I need to know why did you take him above?
His name is Kevin Klarell Washington,
He is someone that I loved.
He was my daddy, I was his son.
I miss him so much, to whom will I run?
It's a horrible nightmare to know that he is lost at sea.
There are so many questions no one can answer for me.
If I had one more chance, I'd hug him real tight.
I'd tell him I LOVE HIM and kiss him good-bye.
This poem is not perfect it's just how I feel.
I MISS YOU DADDY,MY PAIN IS REAL.
YOUR SON

The family of Kevin Washington:

Come unto me, all ye that labour are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. -Matthew 11:28

I was saddened to hear of Kevin's accident. I learned of it from another co-worker. Though I heard about it on the evening news, I was unaware that it was Kevin that was missing. He was a very friendly person with a smile that will always be remembered. Before starting his work day, he would always stick his head in the doorway to wave and say hello. Those of us here at Kerr-McGee that knew him share your surrow. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

A poem for the family....

TO KEEP

Little things like time, words and thoughts

Shared with others, taken so much for granted

That which can so easily slip away…

How little we know how long it will last

Take all the good, place it deep within

Wonderful things that really happened

No one can ever take them from us

Locked away, ours to keep forever…

To remind us that we were special.

May God be with you during your time of bereavment. Continue to have hope ....

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me lie down and green pastures: he leadeth me besides still waters.

He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil;

for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;

thou annointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
