My Poppa..
It still doesn't seem real that you are gone..
I will miss you so much.. more than words can say.
You were more like my daddy than my poppa.
As I watched them lower your body in the ground yesterday I found peace. Peace knowing that was just a body, your soul was already in Heaven. I bet when you got there you and Uncle "Dub" went fishing and you and great nanny had a few words of disagreement. We took a ride after that, a ride like you would take on a Saturday night.. we laughed about your teeth falling out while you would try to talk to us.. we laughed about how we would miss you waking up in your underwear and eating cookies or beating the ice apart at 3 in the morning..i will miss everything. Everything that got on my nerves, that made me mad, sad and most of all happy.
Hannah will know you. She will know how much you loved her and how you would do anything in the world for her, including tearing down a wall in your house so she could be right there with her momma and daddy..I hope you found the pictures and the money in your jacket pocket, those quarters are for you to call home. Hopefully you will call Hannah and let her know that you can't wait to see her again. She will always be your Tooter, even if you aren't physically here with her..
I could go on for days writing..
I guess I will close with this.....
--One day something fell outta the sky, it had one big horn and one big eye..and a tail hole (this) big.--
that always made us laugh. even if we did hear it 200859793 times.
Don't worry about Granny, we are right here with her.
I love you Poppa and can't wait to see you again.
-See ya later old man.

I sure will miss my friend. We worked with each other for over 30 years and Luther was also a cousin from marriage. We have been up again the wall a many a time. He was a family man and loved his wife very much. His three sons were everything and the grandkids, you could not even think bad about none of them. The new great grand baby was it all wrapped up into her. We will all miss Luther many times. Either I called him or he called me everyday sometimes two and three times a day. My wife always loved to fish and hunt with Luther, he thought the world about short legs, he gave her that nickname. She would have to take three short steps to our one on our hunts. Bless the family and friends of Luther, he was one of a kind.

We were classmates and friends in the Old Richmond Hill High School. We had a small class and we all got along like family. We had five girls and five boys in our graduation class of 1960. I know that Luther will be missed by all who knew him and truely be missed by family. Classmates-George Hammond and Gloria Saxon. Our Prayers are with the Family.
