Mark and I started the Corp of Engineers at the same time and became best buds at work. John and I were in Europe at the same time and Mark hosted us in Naples with our 4 year old daughter. He knew everyone! No matter where we were..leather shop, shoe store, cafe house, bakery, and people walking down the street. And they knew him lovingly! Arms outstretched, giant hugs. No one was a stranger to Mark. We´ve stayed in touch over the years and we will miss him! We send our sympathies to the family and understand the sense of loss because he was such a beautiful human being to leave this earth.

Our sincerest condolences to the Bennett family. My family was devastated by this news. We knew Mark through the Corps of Engineers where both my wife and I worked. That friendship grew into after work dinners as well as an amazing trip to Naples, Italy back in 2011 where Mark meet us there from one of his overseas operations for the Corps. He took us sightseeing around Naples and to the Casserta Palace and then to an amazing dinner overlooking Naples. We are truly going to miss him and his wonderful personality.

Mark and I were in 9th grade together at Incirlik, Turkey. When I picture him now, I see him flipping back his hair and flashing that great smile he had. He was a quite a pool player --- we spent a lot of time playing at the AYA and he taught me about putting some spin on my shot. Those were fun times. I'm so sorry for your loss.
