Charlie, Janet and Antoinette

She was my BEST friend, mentor and confidante. Our 16 year age difference made it more like a mother/daughter relationship. She was a GREAT influence on me. I give her credit for guiding me through my career with the Corps of Engineers. She believed in me! My life will not be the same without her!

Our deepest sympathy to you all. You will all occupy a special place in our hearts. Netito and I will Cherish our last visit forever.

Love,

Debra, Ernesto & Netito

I was Nancy"s friend when whe was

with COE RE Div, LA Dist. I surely missed her when she moved out from

LA, and now that she's forever gone,

I can only say may the Lord grant her eternal rest and peace at last.

My twin sister, Debbie Stewart Beverly and I, Donna Stewart Thomas, grew up with Nancy in Fairway Oaks in Savannah, remained friends throughout junior high, high school and at the University of Georgia where all three of us roomed together off campus. I left UGA in the fall of 1975 - not to return. What perplexes me is how you can lose touch with someone you well knew throughout your childhood and school years!

Nancy and I both, though, shared a common love - that of art. I can well remember how often we would come home from one of our art classes at Georgia and exhibit our art work on the kitchen walls. While Nancy ventured into other fields as I did, I did finally return to my first love and now have an art gallery in Atlanta.

My sincere deepest sympathy goes out to you, Charles, whom I never met, you, Janet, whom I admired so as a child and to Nancy's sister.

It is because of Nancy that my husband and I chose to adopt two beautiful girls who know their birth mothers and extended families. This has been a true blessing for us.

You are all in my prayers at this time...

Love,

Donna Stewart Thomas

I knew Nancy when we were in junior high, high school & UGA-We were roommates one college summer and again in our junior year in Athens. We adopted a black kitten together in 1972 when we shared our first "real apartment" off campus. The kitten came to be known as---"Kitty"---We never came up with a real name. I left Savannah in 1979 & lost contact. I am truly shocked over the news of her death and extend my heart-felt sympathies to all her family and friends. Please extend my special condolences to Nancy's mother, Janet, who I also have known over the years. Thanks and take care.

Stay strong. You have a wonderful memory of having had a wonderful person and a beautiful "flower" in your life. That flower was Nancy.

Charlie--I just received your sad news today from Julie Ayala in Contracting Division of the Corps. Sharon and I are really saddened for your loss as well as ours! Nancy was simply a good friend. We certainly remember her love for animals, particularly Roscoe and Daisy Mae!!

We will always remember our great times together and camping in Death Valley and Organ Pipe Cactus NP. We will also remember our good times just being together at your house in Monterey Park and the Hollywood Bowl.

We were planning to fly out your way in November to see Nancy, you and your retirement home. We still wish to do this, if you feel that your grieving time could use some loving company! We hope to talk to you soon and express our love and caring about you and Nancy.

Your friend, Bob
