Robert Macqueston Obituary

Robert Charles MacQueston, Jr. - SAVANNAH - Robert Charles MacQueston, Jr., 77, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. He was born in Medford, Massachusetts, son of the late Robert C. and Florence Kerrington MacQueston. He was a graduate of Wiscassett High School in Wiscasset, Maine and the Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Marine Engineering. He was employed with Bath Iron Works in Bath, Maine as a contract engineer for 30 years, Sargent & Lundy Engineering Corporation in Chicago, IL and Dallas, TX and traveled worldwide with American Trading and Product Company of New York. Mr. MacQueston was a veteran of the United States Navy Reserves having served for twenty years, retiring in 1976. In 1960, he married Marilyn F. Patten of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. He was a member of Masonic Bodies of Maine, Association of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers, the Naperville, IL Sportsman's Club, St. Andrews Scottish Society of IL; Coastal Scottish Society of Savannah, GA; MacDonald Society of US and the St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church of Wilmington Island. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, son, Robert C. MacQueston III (Shanon); son, Scott S. MacQueston (Bobbi Jo) all of Savannah; grandchildren, Anthony MacQueston and Elizabeth MacQueston of Manchester, NH; Conner Aiden, Robert IV and Kade Bear MacQueston all of Savannah, GA. Graveside Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 27, 2011 in Bonaventure Cemetery.
