Stephen,
Although you have been missing from our lives since June 2005, you are now missed even more, knowing we will never seen you again on earth. I would like to thank you so much for helping me come to terms with losing our beloved son Jared. I feel so much better knowing our son is no longer alone in heaven, he is with his hero, his daddy. Now when I dream of Jared playing on the beach or by the streams with frogs, you will be beside him, protecting him, celebrating holidays in heaven together. My promise to you is that I will also protect our other beautiful son Austin, here on earth. Please together with Jared watch over Austin he really needs it now. he has missed you so much in the last three years and prayed he would see you again. You would be so proud of your twin, he has grown up to be a respectful little man.
Someday we will all meet again in Heaven.

popa i miss you!! the worst feeling in the world is ther one where you know you could have seen someone before they passed... I have to live with that .. But as long as Steven lived he was loved and respected by everyone who met him ... In his passing he is loved, respected, and missed by everyone who knew him.. I will see you again in this life or the next...Steven was a wonderful man.. Great father , even to those who weren't his kids... Great teacher , even to those who didn't listen... Great example on how to live a life....I love you and miss you more than these words can express.....

Dear Jessica, Jennifer, Austin, Jayson, God has taken your dad to a place where he is no longer in pain. Here are some of my memories of your dad.
Steve, my dearest friend, I will always have the fond memories when we were growing up, camping in the woods in sub-zero weather in Groton, fishing, crabbing, clamming. Jumping off the tressel into the cove off of RT 32. Driving to Newport Beach with Cindy & Annette, having cookouts together, catching a snapping turtle at Acorn Acres Campground and having my mom make turtle stew. Hiking to Cochesion Rock from my house and camping under the rock and trout fishing in the stream and you catching an 18" brown trout. Walking to Longo's Store to cash in old soda bottles to buy candy. Hitchhiking across town to see our girlfriends. Swimming at the gravel pit and us shooting your dad's guns. Going with your dad to the pizza place in the back of your dad's old pick-up. You sleeping over my house and we would go to Beethhams Pond to ice skate in the winter and eat his apples in the orchard and fling apples at cars from inside of the orchard during the summer. How I would come to visit you, Alison and the boys when I lived in New York every other weekend. The time when me and you watched your dad leave us to go to a better place that sad Easter Sunday in the living room of the home you grew up in. My dear friend I will miss you and know you are watching over me. Until we see each other again I will always think of you and our time together.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.
