William Prentiss Billy Mitchell, Sr. - TYBEE ISLAND - William Prentiss Billy Mitchell, Sr., 59 of Tybee Island, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on the evening of August 17, 2014. He was born September 25, 1954 in Ruston, Louisiana son of John A. Mitchell, Sr. and Marjorie Pardue Mitchell. He was a graduate of Louisiana Tech University and was a veteran of the United States Army. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Mitchell, Martha Jane King, Glenda Mitchell; father-in-law, J. W. Strozier, Sr. and brother-in-law, J.W. Jay Strozier. Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Charlotte Chancy Mitchell of Tybee Island, GA; son, William P. 'Will Mitchell, Jr. and Carrie Jerman of Gastonia, NC; daughter, Chancy Nicole Nicci Mitchell and Ray Bailey of Huntersville, NC; two grandchildren, Baylor and Maizie Bailey of Huntersville, NC; brothers, Johnny Mitchell of Ruston, LA; Jim and Kathleen Mitchell of Ruston, LA; sisters-in-law, Nancy Fuller of Lyman Lake, SC and Shanna Strozier-Rice and Jason Bellew of Inman, SC.
