Lawrence Dennis Egan

On December 17, 2023, Lawrence D. Egan passed away at home, in the company of his two daughters. Larry was born August 31, 1943 in Oklahoma City, OK, to Robert Egan and Leona Francis Egan. He was the youngest of seven children. Larry was preceded by his brothers and his wife of 49 years, Pamela S. Egan. He is survived by his older sisters Maryanne Pearson and Theresa Whitley of Oklahoma, his daughter Shannon Manns and son-in-law Kaibrick Manns, daughter Sally Egan Perdomo and son-in-law Oscar Perdomo, and his grandchildren: Lawrence Manns, Kortney Manns, Khristopher Manns, and Penelope Perdomo. Along with many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.After moving to California and attending high school, Larry enlisted with the U.S. Navy, and served a term as a hospital corpsman. He began his long and varied career in the sales industry, and it was during this time that he met and married Pamela Bush. The two moved to Alta Loma, California to raise their family, with Larry holding sales and leadership positions at Gallo Winery and Remy Martin, along with other companies in the beverage industry. Through the nineties, Larry worked as an entrepreneur, with his ventures including S&S Concessions, his own concession business. In 2007, Larry began serving as the executive director of the Downtown Pomona Owner's Association. His service of 13 years saw him head many revitalization efforts for the city of Pomona, including the return of the Pomona Christmas Parade and the Downtown Trolley; accomplishments he was particularly proud of. He retired from this position in 2020, having been instrumental in the resurgence of Downtown Pomona and the city as a whole, leading to his moniker: "Downtown Pops".Larry leaves behind an immense legacy, having touched the lives of countless friends, colleagues, and family throughout California and beyond. Larry's celebration of life will be announced by the family in the coming weeks.
