Coach Jarvis will remain one of the most influential people in my life.I had him as a coach my freshman and and sophmore years at Mt. Vernon Academy, and my freshman year at La Sierra. His way of getting the best out of you will never be duplicated, as he instilled in me a never say "cannot" attitude.

God Bless you Coach Jarvis.

My wife and I met Bill and Ada when they were in Oregon. We were becoming teachers. I was so happy to meet an Adventist that played football at a high level. We became good friends in a short time. Our happiest moments were with them. Bill and I played tennis like we played football, all out. We really missed them when they moved. Bill, thanks for the memories. Blessings to Ada and the boys

Bill had been a mentor to me and guided me on what became life-long work to promote evidence-based health care. I will always be grateful. I can imagine that he was very special to his family. I am sorry for your loss.

Bill and I taught school together in Parkersburg, West Virginia in our early years. He was wonderfully gifted and completely committed to the lives of his students. He was a great leader. The warm memories of those years remain and I feel diminished at his passing. Sweet be your rest Bill.

Sorry to hear of Mr. Jarvis passing. Many years ago, I too was one of his gym students at Mount Vernon Academy. I was not one of the "impressive ones" but well remember his smile. May his family find blessed comfort.

I first met Dr. Jarvis when in the 9th grade in Parkersburg, WV. He impressed me with his perseverance in teaching me the high jump. He went on to help me in gymnastics at Mt. Vernon Academy, and again I was impressed with his talent of teaching. He has been my favorite teacher, and I will miss him greatly. I look forward to seeing him again after the first resurrection.
