Anita Fisher, of Stroudsburg, Pa., passed away on Sept. 11, 2024. She was the widow of Jacob H. Fisher, who died in 1997.
Born in Saylorsburg, Pa., on March 3, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen (Bittenbender) Arnold. She graduated from Stroudsburg High School in the Class of 1945 at the top of her business class.
Anita was a long-time member of Faith United Methodist Church, Stroudsburg. She served many years as a Sunday School teacher in the children's department and as the Sunday School secretary. She served on many boards and committees over the years and was secretary on most of them.
She was employed for 17 years in the Monroe County Recorder of Deeds office, where she was the Chief Deputy Recorder for half of those years.
In addition to her husband, Jacob, Anita was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Bonser, and siblings, Charles Arnold, Claude Arnold, Elen Flick, Thelma Tomino.
Anita is survived by two daughters: Nancy Kulp (George "Chip"), of Myerstown, and Patricia Fisher, of Mechanicsburg, son-in-law, David Bonser of Stroudsburg, four grandchildren: Matthew Kulp, Daniel Kulp (Jennifer), Julie Bonser, Kyle Bonser, five great-grandchildren: Sarah Weaver (Evan), Samuel Kulp, Jackson Kulp, Mia Kulp, Fenton Kulp, two sisters: Dorothy Krauss, Carol Koehler (Ralph), and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at the Myerstown Christian Fellowship Church, 59 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067. Visitation from 2 to 3 p.m. with a memorial service to follow. Burial will be in Stroudsburg Cemetery at a later date.
