Anni Schauers

Anni Schauers, 82, of Pottsville, passed away Saturday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Anni was born in Darmstadt, Germany, Feb. 14, 1930, a daughter of the late Else Gramlich and George Winter.

She was the widow of John C. Schauers Sr., who passed away June 28, 2012.

She was a member of Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church, Reedsville.

She worked as a housewife.

She was a member of the Orwigsburg Eastern Star Chapter No. 424.

In addition to her husband, Anni was preceded in death by a stepmother, Erna Winter; and a brother, George Winter.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ann Pliler, Thonotosassa, Fla., and Cynthia E. Smith, Saint Clair; a son, John Schauers Jr., Pottsville; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchidlren; a sister, Erna Lenosky; a brother, Manfred; a stepsister, Ingrid Zimmermann; a stepbrother, Roland Steckenreuter, all of Germany; and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church, Reedsville, with the Rev. Mark Brooks officiating. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the church.

At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to Alzheimer's Association, South Central PA Chapter, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
