Cheryl Schauers

Cheryl J. Schauers, 72, of 23 W. 3rd St., formerly of Baker St. in Jamestown, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2026 at UPMC Chautauqua.
She was born Feb. 23, 1953 in Jamestown, one of seven children of the late George and Madeline Phillips Waid.
Cheryl was employed for many years by the former Chatterbox Restaurant in Greenhurst. She also worked at and shot pool for Cappy's, Hatch's, and Skippy's.
Cheryl was a member of the Moose, Eagles and the Vikings where she had many friends. She enjoyed playing pool and did so in several leagues over the years. She also looked forward to wintering in Florida, especially with her beloved friend, Jeanne Long.
Cheryl's main love was her family, particularly holiday celebrations together.
Surviving are two daughters, Crystal (George) Wynn and Nicole (Dan) Schauers, both of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Tyler Apperson, Charles Apperson, Dennis Penhollow III, and Kylie Wynn; and three great grandchildren, Madilynn, Carlee and Everleigh Penhollow. Also surviving three siblings: William Waid of Gowanda, Timothy (Linda) Waid of Texas, and Carrie (Busty) Waid of Jamestown; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Richard Waid, and a sister, Pamela Waid, and her former husband, Charles Schauers.
A private family service will be held and a celebration of Cheryl's life will be held at a later date.
