Christian Smink Obituary

Chris passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 2 surrounded by family after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Marsha Hallock; son, Jeff Smink; daughter-in-law, Lenore Burnham; stepchildren, John Hallock and Tracy Reichmuth; grandchildren, Oliver and Georgia Smink; brothers, Mike and Jeff Smink; sisters, Judy Workman, Nancy Smink and Susan Smink Bendle Yannaccone; and former wife, Elaine Richane.

Chris was born and raised in Pottsville, the son of Christian and Mildred Smink. He graduated from Pottsville High School in 1960 and attended Ursinus College, graduating with a B.A. in German. Chris went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in economics from Georgetown University. He moved to Rochester in the early 1970s to work and raise a family, retiring in 1997 after a long career with Xerox.

Chris was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be missed greatly. A memorial service will be scheduled in the coming weeks. Donations in his name to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
