Joseph Procopio Obituary
Born in Atlas, May 2, 1936, he was a son of the late Belmont and Victoria Griscavage Procopio.
Joe was educated in Mount Carmel schools and went on to become a successful businessman.
He married Kathleen E. Cornelius on July 4, 1959.
Joe was the owner-operator of one of the first coin-op laundries in Mahanoy City area, then became "Mr. Paesano" with the opening of his Pizza & Hoagie Restaurant. He was also the proprietor of Paesano's Auto Sales until his retirement.
Joe was an avid golfer and loved the game of poker.
He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be sadly missed.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph Jr. and Gary.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of 57 years, are a daughter, Gina Werksman; three brothers, Belmont Jr., James and Charles Procopio; a sister, Cettie Jansen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Dec. 22 at Saint Teresa of Calcutta Church, Mahanoy City. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Joe's name to Missionaries of Charity, 538 W. South St., Mahanoy City, PA 17948. David D.
