Marilyn Minchhoff Obituary

Marilyn G. Minchhoff, 85, of Pottsville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning at her residence.

Born in Pottsville, June 23, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Edmund and Dorothea Keating Phillips.

She was a 1947 graduate of Pottsville High School; a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville; and a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Church.

Marilyn spent her life as a homemaker. She most loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Carl Jr.; and a daughter, Maureen.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Carl W. Minchhoff Sr., to whom she was married 54 years; daughter, Nannette C. Leganza, wife of Thomas, Pine Grove; sons, Anthony M. Minchhoff, husband of Lynn, Parryville, Christopher F. Minchhoff, husband of Deb, Tamaqua, and Lamar M. Minchhoff, husband of Margaret, Pottsville; grandchildren, Carla L., Christine, Melissa, Tommy, Matthew, Elizabeth, Michael, Carly and Mark; and two great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Church, 913 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Father David J. Loeper officiating. Interment will follow in St. John No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville. The family requests contributions in Marilyn's memory be sent to St. John the Baptist Church.
