FLORENCE – Edwin Lester Harrell, Sr., 82, died Friday, June 10, 2022, after an illness.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church with burial following in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, Monday, June 13, at Waters-Powell Funeral Home.

He was born in Florence, SC, a son of the late George Pettigrew Harrell, Sr., and Cynthia Saverance Harrell Floyd. He graduated from McClenaghan High School and attended USC-Florence. He was president and CEO of Ed Harrell & Associates in Florence until his death. He also served in the S.C. National Guard.

He was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church and served several terms as a deacon. He was also a strong man of faith and loved everyone unconditionally.

Ed was an avid fan of the USC Gamecocks.

An amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he is survived by his wife, Deborah Lane Harrell, of Florence; two daughters, Robin H. Anderson (Mark) of Florence and Brandy Berry Streett (Drew) of Pawleys Island, SC; two sons, Edwin Lester Harrell, Jr. (Stephanie) and Scott Keels Harrell, both of Florence; two brothers, George P. Harrell, Jr. (Mary Jo) of Virginia Beach, VA, and William E. Harrell (Wanda) of Florence; a sister, Mary Harrell Reaves, of Florence; mother-in-law, Kathleen Lane of Dillon, SC; sister-in-law, Joyce Preacher, also of Dillon; seven grandchildren, Brittany M. Matthews (Brandon) of Florence, Taylor G. Melton of Las Vegas, NV, Grayson Edwin Harrell of Florence, Madison Campbell (Jacob) of Huntington, WV, Zachary Scott Harrell (Abbey) of Sumter, SC, Harrington Streett and Coker Streett, both of Pawleys Island; three great-grandchildren; and his beloved canine companion, Rivers.
