A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at St. John's Abbey Church in Collegeville for Jason David Ruprecht, age 43. Jason passed away August 19, 2017 at his home in Lake Forest, CA. Burial of his cremated remains will take place in the St. John the Baptist Parish Cemetery in Collegeville. Reverend Greg Miller, OSB will preside. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Jason was born February 23, 1974 in St. Cloud to Gene and Judy (Kremers) Ruprecht. Jason had dropped out of high school his sophomore year being more interested in running away to California and skateboarding. In his late teens/early twenties Jason earned his GED and achieved an Associates in drafting. He was able to advance his career significantly with a remarkably brilliant mind. Spending most of his life working in the technology field, Jason had been a systems software architect for iBASEt in California.
Jason loved skateboarding, even well into adulthood; building half pipes in basements and teaching his children how to skate. He was an airplane enthusiast and could build anything with his hands. In California he loved the sand, going to Glamis and Barstow to ride his quad with family and friends.
Jason is survived by his children Ian (Annie), Rebekeh, Kieran, and Valencia, his four grandchildren Ariana, Ilijia, Maja, and Lorelai, his mother Judy,his sister, Jamie (Jay) Daniel, niece Paige and nephew Tyler as well as many other relatives and friends.
Jason is preceded in death by his daughter Abaigeal and his father Gene.

I just learned today about Jasons passing and his daughter as well. I worked with Jason for many years and with his son, Ian, at General Atomics. We talked many times about life, struggles, common interests and joked often. he was always smart and hard working. I feel privileged to have been able to meet him and I know we will meet again someday.
